We all know how the story goes: green concealer is supposed to cover any redness on your face, but does it  really work like that? I've been trying all sorts of makeup tricks for many, many years. Some are simple, like setting the foundation with powder, while some are more tricky, like doing an Arabic smokey eye using duct type. And while some work like magic, others are a waste of time. So how does green concealer stand?
First of all it depends on the concealer. My old one from Oriflame did wonders, while this one from NYX requires more skills for same results. It's their HD concealer in the color CW 12. From testing both concealers I've realised, the creamier concealer the bigger chances for success. It blends into the skin better and therefore is less visible. NYX concealer is too dry and won't blend as nicely.
Other thing to keep in mind is: you need a heavy duty foundation to cover the green patches. When you are done with covering all the redness, you are facing another challenge, covering the green concealer. You can't possibly get away with wearing only powder foundation.
Now the crucial part, the more redness you have the harder the process. I actually don't have any redness on my skin, only some healing pimples that are red at one point. If your have a lot of red areas on the face, it's better to just use foundation to cover them up. If you start spreading the concealer, you'll end up with greenish face that you then have to cover with foundation anyways. It's much easier to just use foundation, and it also looks nicer without that added layer of concealer underneath.

What's the verdict? I think covering redness with green concealers is highly overrated. It works for small spots, but only if you'll use foundation on top, otherwise the concealer will show. Using it on the larger areas is time consuming and won't look as nice. Also the type of concealer is crucial for this adventure, the creamier the better.
What do you think, do you use green concealer?
