Healthy food and nice looking complexion always go hand in hand, and that doesn't come as a surprise. But keeping a strict, healthy diet is not as easy as it sounds. Especially during the Holidays when we think more about wearing a pair of loose pants to accommodate a full stomach, than counting our calories intake.
Now when we are all going back to out everyday routines and trying to keep the New Year's resolutions alive it's an excellent time to include foods that are good for your skin into the everyday menu.

So what are the best foods for glowing and pimple free skin?

1) Tomatoes

It is a known fact that Mediterranean diet is one of the healthiest in the world. And tomatoes are a crucial part of it. They contain a lot of vitamin C and stimulate circulation, which helps the skin to be fresh and plump, as well as pimple free.

2) Oat milk

In the past couple of years I've been trying to find a good substitute for cow's milk, because adults have hard times digesting it and it can cause problems with your pancreas and insulin production. Recently I've also read and article that connects breaking out in some areas of the face with drinking regular milk.
Although soy and almond (read my recipe here) are my favourite cow's milk alternatives, I drink oat milk as well, it tastes very nice and contains fibre, vitamin E and folic acid, ingredients that will for sure give you amazing complexion.

3) Eggs

One of my favourites foods for breakfast and snacks is also on the list. Eggs have been frowned upon because of the high cholesterol level, but they are also full of selenium and zinc that will clear your skin.

4) Green tea

It's always a good idea to lower your coffee intake. Green tea is a good substitute, containing a lot of caffeine and a lot of anti-oxidants as well. And nothing beats anti-oxidants in keeping the skin flawless.

5) Brown rice

We all know how processed carbs are bad for us and most of the time we eat them anyways because, well, they taste so good. However, our skin will suffer and switching to groceries with low glycemic index is a good idea. Processed carbs increase your insulin levels, which is, among other things, bad for the skin. Brown rice has a low glycemic index and is packed with vitamin B, selenium and magnesium.

There more are foods to include in this list, but I only wrote about the ones that really made my skin look better.
What do you think, have you noticed some foods helped your skin stay pimple free?

3) Jaja
