The days of Christmas holidays are always the best. You relax, watch all the christmasy movies and TV shows (have you seen the last episode of Downton Abbey?), while you are sipping your favourite festive drink. I love them all, from apple and cinnamon tea to sparkling cider. Here are the recipes for some of the unusual holiday drings yous should definitely try.

Winter cider:

-two cups (300 ml) of apple cider
-3 to 4 cloves
1 cinnamon stick (or cinnamon powder)
-juice of one orange
-juice of one clementine
-two tea spoons of vanilla sugar

Pour the cider into a pot and put on the lowest setting. After couple of minutes add the ingredients and leave it cook until it boils. Leave it to cool for a bit and then strain directly into the glasses. If the taste is too overwhelming for you, you can use the mixture of cider and sparkling water for this recipe. You can also leave the cinnamon stick inside a glass for decoration.

Cinnamony milk:

-milk
-cinnamon (one stick or two tea spoons of powder)
-an orange (you'll use only the peel)
-small piece of ginger

Measure how much milk you'll need for your cup and pour it into a pot. To prevent milk from burning add a bit of water to the pot first, this is a nice trick to use whenever you are heating milk. 
Turn on the lowest temperature on your stove and let the milk heat. Put the cinnamon in, then wash the orange (since you'll be using the peel), and using a knife remove couple of peels and add them to the milk. Add ginger, you can use as much ginger as you want, or skip this step if you don't like ginger. Leave the milk on the stove until it boils. Pay attention to it and stir from time to time or it will burn. 
When it cools a bit remove the cinnamon stick, orange peels and a piece of ginger. If you use powder cinnamon or ginger you'll only have to remove orange peels. Pour it into a cup and sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on top for decoration. 
If you want to take it to the next level, use half cup of milk and half cup of Pina colada, it tastes delicious both ways!

Christmasy coffee:

-cup of coffee
-soy milk
-honey
-grated orange peel
-cinnamon
-muscat nut

Make the coffee (as strong as you like), pour it into a cup while it's still warm and add honey and soy milk to your taste (you can use regular milk as well). Add grated orange peels, some cinnamon powder and grated muscat nut. 



Dani novogodišnjih praznika su uvek najbolji. Kada se svi opuštamo uz božićne filmove i serije (da li ste pogledali poslednju epizodu Dauntonske opatije?) dok pijemo svoje omiljeno novogodišnje piće. Ja ih volim sve, od čaja od jabuke i cimeta, do cidera od jabuke. Ovo su recepti za neka neobičnija novogodišnja pića koja obavezno morate da probate.

Zimski cider:

-dve šolje (300 mililitara) cider od jabuke
-3 ili 4 karanfilića
-1 štapić cimeta (ili cimet u prahu)
-sok jedne pomorandže
-sok jedne klementine
-dve kafene kašičice vanilinog šećera

Sipajte cider u šerpu i grejte na najmanjoj temperaturi. Posle nekoliko minuta dodajte ostale sastojke i kuvajte dok ne proključa. Ostavite da se ohladi i onda procedite direktno u čaše. Ako vam je ovakva mešavina prejaka, možete da koristite pola mere cidera i pola kisele vode. Štapić cimeta, radi dekoracije, možete da ostavite u čaši.

Mleko sa cimetom:

-mleko
-cimet (jedan štapić ili dve kafene kašičice praha)
-pomorandža (koristićete samo koru)
-komadić đumbira

Izmerite koliko vam je mleka potrebno za jednu šolju i sipajte ga u šerpu. Da biste sprečili da mleko zagori prvo sipajte malo vode na dno šerpe, ovo je praktičan trik koji možete da koristite kad god grejete mleko. 
Ostavite mleko da se ugreje na najmanjoj temperaturi. Ubacite cimet, pa operite pomorandžu (pošto ćete koristiti koru), i nožem oljuštite nekoliko traka kore i dodajte ih u mleko. Dodajte koliko god đumbira želite, ili preskočite ovaj korak ako ne volite đumbir. Grejte mleko dok ne proključa i mešajte ga s vremena na vreme da ne bi zagorelo. 
Kada se malo prohladi izvadite štapić cimeta, koru pomorandže i đumbir. Ako ste koristili cimet i đumbir u prahu onda ćete morati da izvadite samo koru. Sipajte u šolju i ukrasite cimetom u prahu.
Ako želite još ukusnije i neobičnije piće, pomešajte pola šolje mleka sa pola šolje Pinja kolade, oba recepta su jako ukusna!

Božićna kafa:

-šolja kafe
-sojino mleko
-med
-narendana pomorandžina kora
-cimet
-muskantni oraščić

Skuvajte kafu (koliko god jaku želite), sipajte u šolju dok je još vruća i dodajte med i sojino mleko po ukusu (možete da koristite i obično mleko). Ostaje samo da dodate izrendanu koru pomorandže, malo cimeta i izrendani muskantni oraščić.
